Deaf Interpreters, Teaming, and Real-Time Decision-Making

Deaf–hearing interpreter teaming is often described as collaborative, yet Deaf interpreters navigate decisions shaped by power, autonomy, and trust. This workshop centers Deaf interpreters as active decision-makers and uses real-world scenarios to examine how meaning is negotiated in practice. Participants will explore how their decisions shape interaction and develop strategies to evaluate and navigate teaming.
