Power of Two:
Success Strategies for Working with a Hearing Team

Interpreting
.20 CEU
(PS)
We bring our combined Deaf interpreting experiences in the UK and US for a exploration of successful teaming strategies. As Deaf interpreters and trainers; we're here to share ways to kick off teaming in the best way at every interpreted event and connect with your hearing team throughout all stages. We'll start with exploring what Deaf and hearing interpreters do different; what we each bring to the job and how to harness combined strengths for the best consumer experience. Specifics such as what questions to ask your hearing team, creating effective summaries with respect to the consumer, optimal ways to introduce the team and start up the interpretation, cue and repair processes, plus how to pivot throughout all the stages and flex with different demands. With appropriate planning and conversations, DIs can ensure all stages of the interpreted event go smooth and both interpreters can fully invest and support/receive needed support through teaming.
