Building a stronger pipeline of Certified Deaf Interpreters starts with understanding the exam process and equipping candidates with the tools to succeed. This workshop provides an in-depth overview of the current CASLI examinations, including recent updates, and essential considerations when preparing for their examinations. Attendees will gain a clear understanding of what to expect in pursuing the CDI Certification and CASLI examinations.
The session will also focus on practical preparation strategies, offering tips for skill development, study planning, effective test-day preparation and how to navigate through the process with confidence.
Participants will also have the opportunity to engage in an open Q&A session to ask questions and clarify expectations. This workshop is ideal for candidates planning to pursue CDI certification taking CASLI exams, as well as educators and mentors providing support to emerging CDIs.

Sean Furman
Sean Furman is the Director of Testing for CASLI and has been with RID/CASLI since 2019. He leads the development and maintenance of CASLI’s examination programs, collaborating closely with the CASLI Board of Managers, Testing Committee, and other key stakeholders. Sean is energized by the complexity and impact of his work and brings a thoughtful, solutions-oriented approach to addressing evolving challenges.
Outside of work, Sean has a strong passion for theatre and film, giving back to the Deaf community, and spending time with his spouse and their triplets while exploring new adventures together.
