DIC History

The Deaf Interpreter Conference (DIC) series represents a landmark initiative in advancing Deaf-led professional development across the United States. Since the inaugural DIC1, each successive conference, including DIC2, DIC3, and DIC4, has created a dedicated space for Deaf interpreters to deepen their skills, exchange knowledge, and strengthen national collaboration.

Guided and supported by National Deaf Interpreters (NDI), the DIC series has grown into a premier platform for elevating Deaf interpreter leadership, innovation, and community connection. DIC5 continues this legacy, honoring the foundation built by previous conferences while shaping the next chapter of Deaf interpreter excellence.
