Plan & Prepare

We have compiled a list of Deaf Interpreter training and highly encourage you to take some courses before the DIC5 conference. Additionally, plans are underway to offer training during the week before the conference, providing convenient opportunities to prepare and connect.

For those who are not yet certified Deaf Interpreters, we highly recommend connecting with your state Department of Rehabilitation or Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) counselor. Express your interest in pursuing the CDI profession and ask about available support.

DIC5 can provide a justification letter to assist with this process. Based on past experiences, many Deaf Interpreters have successfully secured financial support through VR for training, conference attendance, workshops, and materials. Taking this step early can help ensure you have the resources needed to grow professionally and fully participate in DIC5.
