Role Space Framework Application for Deaf Interpreting
Sponsored by Sorenson

Skills-Based

(PS)
This 2-hour workshop lays a solid foundation for message analysis. Message analysis is an essential part of the interpreting process. Workshop participants will use a step-by-step approach to identifying the theme (gist) of a passage as well as the main points, details, function, register, and affect of several ASL statements. Practice videos will be provided, with participants being guided through the practical application of the message analysis process. We'll uncover more of the message than just what is on the surface, and for an interpretation to truly be effective, it must take into consideration all of these components.
